Kyle Clifford: Triple murder suspect in ‘serious condition’ as police recover crossbow

The man suspected of murdering three women in Hertfordshire is in a serious condition in hospital and is yet to be questioned, police have said.

Kyle Clifford was discovered by police in Lavender Hill cemetery in Enfield, north London, on Wednesday following a large manhunt.

The 26-year-old was taken to the Royal London Hospital in Whitechapel where he is continuing to receive treatment.

Police have not revealed how the former security guard sustained his injuries.

Officers say a crossbow has been recovered as part of the investigation.

The victims have been named as Carol Hunt, 61, the wife of Sky Sports and BBC racing commentator John Hunt, and two of their daughters, Louise, 25, and Hannah, 28.

They were found with serious injuries at a property in Ashlyn Close, in Bushey, Hertfordshire, just before 7pm on Tuesday. They died a short time later.

Police have previously said a crossbow, as well as other weapons, were used in the attack.

Clifford was believed to have been known to the victims.

However, Hertfordshire Police said it had received no previous reports about the suspect or the victims prior to the deaths.

Meanwhile, further searches have taken place at a house in Rendlesham Road, Enfield, which is linked to the suspect’s brother Bradley Clifford – who was jailed for life with a minimum term of 23 years for the murder of moped passenger Soban Khan in 2018.

Bradley Clifford targeted the moped before crashing into it and assaulting Mr Khan after the collision, the Metropolitan Police has said.

Members of police staff were seen wearing gloves and face masks outside the property this morning, which was first searched on Wednesday as part of the Hertfordshire investigation.
